What you see in the mirror doesn’t matter. What people tell you doesn’t count. Beloved, once you’ve chosen to trust and accept Jesus, you were saved, regardless of what you’ve done, or what you’re not. What’s more, God sees you differently. Jesus has enveloped you in the robe of His identity(Galatians 3: 27). Wonderful things were added in your account, and they are there to stay.
You need to know what Christ has purchased for you on the Cross, and you have to know that they are yours forever. Even when the winds try so hard to blow you away, even when your situation is pulling you down, hold on to Jesus, beloved, and believe in all that He tells you. When it comes to finding out who you are, what Jesus tells you is the only valid answer. You are:
- Forgiven all sin.
Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” (Hebrews 10: 17) How serious do you think God was when He said this? He meant every letter of it, beloved. Your Father assures you that your sins— yesterday, three years ago, today, later, or five years from now— are forgiven! And not just that— He has forgotten them. You can’t make them as an excuse to not come to Him, for God doesn’t even remember them anymore. That’s how much He loves you! All the punishment, the curse, and the judgment that was meant for you was poured out on Christ Jesus on the cross, 2000 years ago! This is GRACE. God sees you as pure, as unblemished and as innocent as the Lamb who was slain as a sacrifice for humanity once and for all.
- Assured of salvation.
God did not choose us to suffer His anger, but to possess salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us in order that we might live together with him, whether we are alive or dead when He comes. (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10) Salvation is a gift. You, beloved, have been saved by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ. Notice this: YOU POSSESSED SALVATION THROUGH JESUS CHRIST. Not by what you did. What you offered. Who you loved. Whom you’ve helped. Jesus Christ had been the reason for your salvation, through your faith. No strings attached. Don’t believe people when they tell you that your salvation can be taken away. That won’t happen, and even if you fail, or commit mistakes, or sin. God is not yet done with you. Don’t be discouraged. Jesus loves you so much, beloved. I believe that no child of God can ever be the same again, or ever keep on falling down, because Jesus lives in you and me, and we are a work in progress. We are in the grip of His grace.
- Washed, Sanctified, Justified.
And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6: 11) When you sin, when you fail, or when you fall, God wants you to remember this, beloved. You have been washed, purified and justified in His eyes. He continually cleanses you, after every fall. He continually purifies you from your sins. And, you were justified in His sight. You have an Advocate, a Lawyer, in Heaven. He’s Jesus. He’s speaking for your behalf to God. When you sin, He says, “Father, you will still bless this child of yours, for I’ve taken the punishment due to him, when I died on the cross. All that’s for me, you will also give to him.”
- Accepted in the Beloved.
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.(Ephesians 1: 6) When you look at yourself, you don’t like some of what you see. But you know what? I don’t care about what you feel, what you think or what you see in yourself. God still accepts you. He wants to embrace all of you, and love all of you. You can come to Him, and don’t let these insecurities and imperfections keep you from coming to Him, because, beloved, your Father is the only One who knows how, and is capable of curing them. Jesus Christ has torn the veil, and you can come in. He beckons you to come in His God’s presence.
- Blessed with all good things.
From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. (John 1: 16) What do you need right now, beloved? Know that it is yours. Just claim it. God wants everything that is good for you, and He won’t withhold it from you. By His grace, in Jesus Christ, you are complete, and well-provided for.
- Loved unconditionally.
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5: 8) God may have seen your worst, but still, nothing changes His love for you. He still won’t fail you. His promises will still be true for you. He gave His Son, at humanity’s darkness to show that no sin, no failure, no stain, is ever to great or too horrid to keep God’s love from pouring out to you. Hey, you are forever qualified in Christ Jesus for your Father.
- Protected by the power of God.
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. (John 10: 29) You are enveloped, you are covered, in the Creator’s hand. No one will ever take you away from His sight. Hey beloved, there may be trouble and pain all around you, but know that you are Christ’s. And it’s not yet over. No weapon forged against you will ever remain.
- Victorious and more than conqueror.
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15: 57)
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. (Romans 8: 57) All these things have no power over you. All these things can never overcome you. You are equipped by Christ as a warrior, and in your Savior’s name, beloved, whatever it is you’re facing, you will always have the victory. Believe that. He is for you, never against you. He is on your side, no matter what.
And according to the Bible, beloved, all of God’s gifts and callings are irrevocable. You are these forever. Trust your Father. He won’t fail you. He’ll never lie to you.
