The Anthem by Planetshakers
I want you to know that all of us are cruel, vain and self-promoting people. We break our own promises. We make the wrong decisions, get hurt, and blame others. We search too much for happiness here in this world.
Jesus knew beforehand how each of us will turn out. He knew that I can be obsessed sometimes by how other people think about me. He knew that I sometimes forget that He is my future and security. He knew that there will be times when I’ll punch my pillows angrily, questioning His love for me, or even His existence. He knew everything. He knew, even if I don’t tell Him. He knew me.
His knowledge, though, of how much hurt I can inflict on myself, and even other people, did not stop Him from saving me. It did not stop Him from dying for me.
The Prince of Peace, the King of ALL, He who is spotless and so perfect and full of love, chose to give up His perfect, beautiful life and body for a wretched person like me. He saw how I ragged I am, but He loves me. He did everything for me. I am the slave, but He chose to serve me.
Thank you, Jesus, because Your love is enough. Thank you, Jesus, for accepting me even if you knew the depths of my heart. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are my King, Lord. You are the ruler of the Universe, and there is no place safer for me to stay.
